The Queen's English

Teaching English is a brilliant way to meet people. The team here run a very useful English course, which uses the Bible as a way to teach both the language and the gospel.

Then yesterday while talking to some friends I suddenly had this "vision".

One of the big language schools in Bordeaux is called "Wall Street English" and they advertise on all the buses: "Do you speak English? Yes! Wall Street English!" Makes your blood run cold, doesn't it.

Imagine buses with another kind of advert for ... "The Queen's English", with a picture of George Bush and of the Queen saying "Don't speak like him, speak like me!".

I could do grammar and culture. Pat could teach cockney rhyming slang and a friend from the DEFLE, who does speak very much like the Queen, could come in to do diction and elocution.

It could work. It could work.
