A nice day at Floirac

The Cevennes treasurers came this morning. It took ages to get everyone into the church room. And Cevennes people kiss three times. That is a significant increase in time in getting everyone in and seated (though it could have been worse - the Blaye people kiss four times).

This morning there were two spelling errors on the PowerPoint slides and one of them was mine. I kind of knew it would happen because I had not had as much time to check it. Still - quand même, uh?

Lunch was a splendid affair, and they ate all the trifle and all the bread and butter pudding. Then this evening Fiona was interviewed for the evangelistic service. Fiona had chosen the songs, so we sang lots of the weightier stuff, like "Torrents d'amour' (the French version of "O the deep deep love of Jesus").

The Cevennes people remind me of South Walians. They even look like them. And surprise, surprise, they sing like them! The men sing readily, heartily and in harmony. Sammy is in a series on the Holy Spirit in the mornings, leading up to Pentecost, and this evening he preached simply on Matthew 7 (2 doors, 2 paths, 2 verdicts, 2 outcomes).

It was a good day today. Posted by Picasa
