Pat's test
She had to write a letter to a friend talking about a holiday, so she wrote about Carnac. (It was a good time!)
She got the French word for camping right (camping), but she didn't know what a standing stone was or horse-riding school, so instead of doing the sensible thing and just writing about things she knew the words for (crêpes, pizzas, vélos, etc) she put in "standing stones" in quotation marks and "école pour chevaux".
Still, quand même, uh?
