Sunday after lunch

One correspondant asks the nature of the game - it's kind of like a football scrummage. One person introduces the football and the aim is not to allow the ball to pass between or alongside your legs while booting it through the legs of another.

Another correspondant points out that the lunch can't have been too good if people could still bend over like that. Alas, yes, the Sunday roast is virtually unknown in France and we Daveys give hospitality rather than entertain. That is "whatever we got we share", to quote the bard.
