M. Juppé on his bike

Mayor of Bordeaux, minister of the government and candidate for election to the Assemblée Nationale. President Sarkozy wants his ministers all to have been elected to the assembly, so presumably if M. Juppé is not elected he will have to resign his government post. However, that will mean he can continue to be fully involved as mayor.

Meanwhile the country as a whole seems to be giving M. Sarkozy its full backing. Except that Bordeaux has been moving more and more to the left.

Will Bordeaux say "On yer bike, Juppé"? Frankly, it seems unlikely.
By the way, frenchmen happily ride bikes with stepthrough frames, and I think all Bordeaux' free bikes are what the Brits would think of as ladies' models..

That isn't, surely can't be, but yes it must! Cameron seems to have got into this act too, surely that's him on his 'green machine' in the dark suit in the foreground! (I must say that as far as I am concerned, the French or anyone else can have him and all of his ilk, i.e. politicians).

Yes, yes, I am aware of the scripture, it just seems a shame that so few of them are ;)
