Pat's blood test

Pat had to have a blood test done to establish her thyroxin levels. She wanted me along just in case she got into linguistic difficulties. The language labs are still blocked from the strike, so our supplementary catch-up phonetics sessions were cancelled this afternoon. So we went for her to be bled.

Well, the laboratory in Villenave is very high tech. Everything about it says clean. Pat had to give lots of details to the technician/bloodtaker (all of which she did perfectly well without me) and then go into the bleeding-room. They had this amazing special blood-taking chair, where you sit with your arms on these new-fangled angled armrests while the lady pokes the needle in. We didn't take our cheque-book (must TRY and remember that medical people only take cash or cheques!) so we'll pay on Monday when we get the results.
