Incredible isn't it? I no longer expect Bishops in the CofE to actually believe in God but for the archBish of Canterbury to suggest that 1 law for all "seems dangerous" and that people shouldn't be torn between "the stark alternatives of cultural loyalty or state loyalty" is mind boggling. Academia, Ivory Towers not withstanding, how out of touch can this man be?

"Dr Williams argues that adopting some aspects of Sharia law would help maintain social cohesion." Really?

Ironic that the two best people to replace him are Michael Nazir-Ali, Bishop of Rochester, and John Sentamu, Archbishop of York, both "immigrants"

Makes me ashamed to be Welsh and glad to be in France !

Incidentally, isn't Michael Nazir-Ali currently under death-threats ?
