Chatelaillon

We've been meaning for weeks to go up and pay a visit to my good friend Jean-Baptiste Guéraçague who has a bilingual church in the seaside town of Chatelaillon-Plage up in the Charente-Maritime. So this Sunday we did it, taking the greetings of our church in Cenon.

I knew his place was easy to find but 10:30 was looming and we still hadn't found it, so we went into the splendid little médiathèque (free coffee, internet terminals, open on Sunday morning !) and asked there.
No problem after that, we found the place and heard Jean-Baptiste's booming voice. Not only that but the service started at 11am, so we were early. Not only that but I was asked to be his interpreter - he preaches in French and is interpreted into English. I gladly agreed but it has to be said that it isn't an easy task because he sometimes gets going a bit and you can't interpret for those long stretches...

It was great to meet up with him and some of his large family and the folks who are faithfully serving alongside him in the little church up there.
