OK - last night was the ECTARC folk - who is it tonight?

Last night the standard Davey chilli got made again for a group of folks who are working in Bordeaux via ECTARC. We got in touch because one is the grand-daughter of a church member in Deeside. They were a nice bunch. Two working in schools, one in a car hire place, one in a château, one translating websites. It sounds like a pretty good way of improving your French. There is one French graduate among them, some have A level, but others had very little French before coming. They're housed with host families all over the Bordeaux conglomeration. (oops - that's the worst kind of franglais - neither agglomeration fr nor conurbation en)

They brought this tarte from Paul's patisserie. I have to say, it was a hundred times nicer than the supermarket tartes. Probably a hundred times more expensive, too.

Tonight some of the Chinese students are coming to eat. After chilli on Sunday and on Monday I think we'll have something else tonight. It is the night that Groupe Rive Gauche would normally meet, but in holiday season it's just not going to happen !

European Centre for Training and Regional Cooperation. It's an organisation that arranges work experience for people in other European countries.

I have often seen their offices in Llangollen (!) but I thought it was some art centre place or something... Now we know !
