Isn't it interesting?
People often pray for revival and sometimes even feel assured that a great increase in the fruitfulness of the gospel is about to come, very soon.
This psalm begins with remembering a revival that was even noticed by the nations around. Then look how the psalm ends:
Psalm 126
A song of ascents.
1 When the LORD brought back the captives to [a] Zion,
we were like men who dreamed. [b]
Reaping with songs of joy is for those who have previously sown in tears. Or in other words, there's no way to laughter in Zion that doesn't go through the tears of the Negev...
However, those who sow with tears will reap with laughter and songs.

Psalm 126
A song of ascents.
1 When the LORD brought back the captives to [a] Zion,
we were like men who dreamed. [b]
2 Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
"The LORD has done great things for them."
3 The LORD has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy.
4 Restore our fortunes, [c] O LORD,
like streams in the Negev.
5 Those who sow in tears
will reap with songs of joy.
6 He who goes out weeping,
carrying seed to sow,
will return with songs of joy,
carrying sheaves with him.
