I love this time of year

It's the time when there's lots of things going on, lots of things starting up, lots of meeting with one person and another to organise, and lots of emails flying round to try to find the best time for this, and a slot to do that, and so on... I do get forgetful ! But that's what lists, diaries and emails are for. Sometimes I can't quite see how everything is going to fit together, but it always works out and I've learnt not to worry about that. Generally I laugh. A lot. A bit too loud, if you know what I mean...

Anyway, here's a couple of things that I find especially encouraging; a Pessac prayer and study group on Fridays for the guys who can't make the Wed evening prayer meeting and a theological study group for the guys who need a bit of extra beef in their diet - we don't yet know when that can be held !

Meanwhile the English classes continue to be well attended - I think we were one or two fewer in my beginners' group, but that's because some people have already graduated to the intermediate or advanced group. Success or what ! ( hee hee )

Todays mission, should I choose to accept it - admin this morning, then this afternoon set up a website in Chinese for the Chinese Group and prepare the first Thursday evening on Basic Bible Interpretation. Prayer meeting this evening.

They're really different. I think I have already mentioned that while in the UK people generally find a private teacher for their instrument, or do it through a school scheme, here there are municipal music school, conservatoires and so on. The situation is a little more complex than I had first understood, because the schools vary in the rigidity of their organisation: the most, the conservatoires, next the municipals, then the associations. Our music school is an association, but it tends to apply the standards of the municipal schools with its programme of cycles, etc. Britain - grade 1 to 8, grade 8 being roughly equivalent to A-level, pre university/conservatoire. The Kitchen

 Our new apartment will be equipped with toilet and bathroom etc. but not with anything at all in the kitchen. Not even a sink. So we need to purchase a kitchen and engage a kitchen fitter. A friend who knows how to fit kitchens suggested buying an Ikea kitchen. "They're guaranteed twenty years and they honour their guarantee", he said. "I've proved it". Well I don't know any other kitchen laces in France, and I can't imagine there's much that's cheaper than Ikea, so I was happy to accept his advice. So it was that on Monday I booked an appointment with the Ikea Kitchen Planning Service in the centre of Bordeaux. The woman was friendly. "You've already started the process", she said, (have we?)
