Yesterday I discovered that there's a reasonably strong possibility that I'll be preaching on Sunday - I am backup to one of the friends here and he is somewhat unwell.
So I have to be ready to preach in French am and I am scheduled to preach in English pm.
Then this morning the brother contacted me to ask me if I could sort out the hymns for the morning as he has taken to his bed. That's probably the part of things I find hardest for the French services, but tally-ho, what !
Still no cause for alarm.
Till a friend just phoned and during the conversation said "And it's the match tonight, isn't it..."
Ah yes - Wales / France.
