Wagner - Die Walküre Act 3 - Ride of the Valkyries

I don't know about you, but they scare me witless.

Strange to relate, while discussing what to call our children Guto and Rhydderch were rejected in favour of Gwilym (he's glad) and Flosshilde and Woglinde in favour of Catrin (she's ecstatic).

Genuine terror. Is 'Catrin' the Welsh equivalent of Catriona? 'Catriona' is the Anglicised spelling. In proper Gaelic it's 'Caitriana'.

I think it probably is. Thankfully French people's pronunciation of Catrin is exactly like that of Catherine, so her name presents them with no problems whatsoever.

It's catreen. French people don't do i as in ship. You can have shep, you can have sheep, but you can't have ship. Most French people don't even hear the difference between ship and sheep.
